Pak Shama School Policies

1. Admission Policy

  • Objective: To provide a transparent and fair admission process that welcomes students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Eligibility:
    • Open to all students regardless of race, gender, or religion.
    • Priority may be given to siblings of current students and children of school staff.
  • Application Process:
    • Parents must complete an application form available on the school website or at the school office.
    • Required documents include birth certificate, previous school records, and a passport-sized photograph.
    • Applications must be submitted by the designated deadline, usually set two months before the school year begins.
  • Interview:
    • Prospective students may be required to attend an informal interview with the principal and a teacher to assess readiness and fit for the school environment.
  • Notification:
    • Admission decisions will be communicated via email or phone within two weeks of the interview.
    • Accepted students must confirm their enrollment by submitting a registration fee and completing necessary paperwork.

2. After School Detention Policy

  • Objective: To encourage students to take responsibility for their actions and improve their behavior.
  • Criteria:
    • Detention may be assigned for the following reasons:
      • Disruptive behavior in class
      • Incomplete homework or assignments
      • Failure to follow school rules
      • Tardiness or unexcused absences
  • Duration:
    • Detention will last for one hour after school on designated days.
    • Students will be supervised by a staff member during detention.
  • Notification:
    • Parents will be notified at least one day in advance, along with the reason for the detention.
    • Students will be required to complete a reflection form during detention to promote accountability.

3. Attendance Policy

  • Objective: To promote regular attendance and punctuality, which are critical to academic success.
  • Expectation:
    • Students are expected to attend school daily and arrive on time.
    • A maximum of 10 excused absences per academic year is allowed.
  • Reporting Absences:
    • Parents must notify the school by 9 AM if their child will be absent due to illness, family emergencies, or other valid reasons.
    • A written note must be submitted upon the student’s return to school.
  • Consequences:
    • Excessive absences (more than 10) may lead to a review of the student’s academic status and possible retention.
    • Students with unexcused absences will face disciplinary actions, including detention.

4. Behavior Evaluation Policy

  • Objective: To promote positive behavior and address issues early through evaluation and support.
  • Evaluation Process:
    • Student behavior will be evaluated regularly through:
      • Teacher observations
      • Peer feedback
      • Self-assessment forms
  • Intervention:
    • Students exhibiting persistent behavioral issues will be provided with support, including:
      • Counseling sessions
      • Behavior contracts outlining expectations and consequences
      • Parental involvement to address concerns collaboratively.

5. Anti-Bullying Policy

  • Objective: To ensure a safe and respectful environment for all students and eliminate bullying in any form.
  • Definition:
    • Bullying includes repeated aggressive behavior that involves an imbalance of power and can be physical, verbal, or social.
  • Reporting:
    • Students and parents are encouraged to report any incidents of bullying to school authorities confidentially.
    • Reports can be made verbally or through a written complaint form available in the school office.
  • Response:
    • All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly.
    • Confirmed incidents of bullying will result in appropriate disciplinary action, which may include counseling, suspension, or expulsion for severe cases.

6. Medical Conditions & Ill Students Policy

  • Objective: To ensure the health and well-being of all students while at school.
  • Notification:
    • Parents must inform the school of any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs their child may have.
    • This information will be kept confidential and shared only with relevant staff members.
  • Illness:
    • Students exhibiting symptoms of illness should stay at home to prevent the spread of infections.
    • A student must be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school.
  • Emergency Protocols:
    • The school will maintain emergency contact information for all students.
    • First aid kits will be available in each classroom, and trained staff will be responsible for managing medical emergencies.

7. Students Assessment Policy

  • Objective: To monitor and evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning.
  • Assessment Methods:
    • Students will be assessed through:
      • Regular quizzes and tests
      • Mid-term and final examinations
      • Projects, presentations, and class participation
      • Homework assignments
  • Reporting:

8. Supervision & Safety Policy

  • Supervision:

    • Designated staff will oversee the arrival and departure of students at the beginning and end of the school day.
  • Emergency Procedures:
    • The school will conduct regular fire drills and safety drills to prepare students for emergencies.
    • Clear evacuation routes will be posted in each classroom, and staff will be trained in emergency response protocols.

9. Parents Concern & Complaints Policy

10. Visitors Policy

    • Visitors must provide a valid form of identification and the purpose of their visit.
  • Access:

    • Unauthorized individuals will be asked to leave the premises.

11. Uniform Policy

  • Objective: To promote a sense of unity, discipline, and school identity among students.
  • Dress Code:
    • Students are required to wear the designated school uniform during school hours, which includes:

      • Trousers or skirts of appropriate length
      • Closed-toe shoes
    • Students may wear a school-issued jacket or sweater during colder weather.
  • Exceptions:
